- Total: about two and a half hours. Not four.
Two crowds, one party
A first birthday has grandparents and it has toddlers. They need different things:
- Seating with back support for the elders, placed where they can see the cake table without standing
- A floor area for small children that is not the walkway
- Food at two levels — a proper meal for the adults, and something plain and soft for the children
- A quiet room for feeding and for the baby to sleep when it stops being fun
Decor
Theme decor, a cake table, a photo corner, and a milestone board. Nothing suspended above the baby, nothing with small detachable parts at floor level, and lighting that is bright enough for the camera without being harsh on a one-year-old’s eyes.
Venue
Clubhouse halls in Labbipet and Patamata, banquet rooms on the Eluru Road stretch, or at home. Home works well for under about forty guests and stops working sharply above that.
