Price is driven by crew size and days, far more than by camera equipment. A two-photographer, two-videographer crew for three functions is simply more people for more days.

Candid, traditional, cinematic — what you actually need

Traditional is the posed, lit, everyone-looking-at-camera coverage — family groups, stage shots, rituals recorded clearly. Parents and grandparents care about these, and skipping them is the most common regret.

Candid is unposed, reportage-style — reactions, in-between moments, emotion. It is what most couples now book for.

Cinematic film is an edited 3-8 minute narrative film, as distinct from the long-form traditional video.

1. Can I see one complete wedding, start to finish? Not a highlights reel. A full gallery shows consistency, which is the only thing that matters.
2. Who exactly is shooting my wedding? Many studios sell on a lead photographer’s portfolio and send an associate. Ask for the name, and ask to see that person’s work.
3. How many photographers and videographers per function?
4. Have you shot at my venue before? Lighting in a function hall versus an outdoor mandap versus a hotel ballroom are different problems.
5. How do you handle low light? Most Hyderabad receptions are evening events under mixed stage lighting. This question separates experience from equipment.
6. What is the deliverable, in numbers? How many edited photos, how many raw, what video length, what resolution.
7. What is the delivery timeline, in writing? Four to eight weeks is normal. Four months is not, and it happens.
8. Do I get the raw files? Policies differ. Decide before, not after.
9. How many rounds of edits are included?
10. Is an album included, and is it a physical album or just files? Album costs are often quoted separately and are not small.
11. What happens if the shooter falls ill? A professional studio has a backup answer ready.
12. What is the payment schedule and cancellation policy?

The scheduling mistake to avoid

Block a fixed 30-45 minute slot for family group photos and tell both families the time in advance. Weddings where this is left to “after the muhurtham, whenever” are the ones where half the relatives have left before the group photo happens. It costs nothing to schedule and is the most common avoidable regret.
