20 Pre-Wedding Shoot Locations in Hyderabad (With Permissions, Timing and Costs)

A pre-wedding shoot lives or dies on light and crowds, which means the location matters less than when you go there. Below are twenty spots in and around Hyderabad, grouped by the kind of frame they give you, with the practical detail that usually gets left out.

Heritage and architecture

  1. Golconda Fort — dramatic stone and long views. Go at sunrise; by 9 AM it is busy. Photography permission required for professional shoots.
  2. Qutb Shahi Tombs — arches and symmetry, beautifully restored. Early morning. Permission required.
  3. Chowmahalla Palace — courtyards and durbar hall. Ticketed, with a separate professional photography fee.
  4. Taramati Baradari — arched pavilions, good for both golden hour and evening.
  5. Paigah Tombs — exceptional stucco detail, intimate scale, rarely crowded.
  6. Charminar and Laad Bazaar — street energy and bangles. Very early morning only, and a small crew.

Water and sunset

  1. Durgam Cheruvu and the cable bridge — the modern Hyderabad frame. Blue hour, just after sunset.
  2. Tank Bund — skyline and water. Sunrise beats sunset for crowds.
  3. Osman Sagar (Gandipet) — open water, big skies, classic golden-hour spot.
  4. Himayat Sagar — quieter than Gandipet, similar light.
  5. Shamirpet Lake — tree-lined and calm, good for soft morning frames.

Green and natural

  1. KBR National Park — tree canopy and dappled light. Check current photography rules.
  2. Botanical Garden, Kondapur — well kept, varied backdrops, easy access from the IT corridor.
  3. Sanjeevaiah Park — lakeside greenery near the city centre.
  4. Ananthagiri Hills (Vikarabad) — roughly 80 km out; forest roads and mist in winter mornings. Make it a full-day plan.
  5. Mrugavani National Park — dry forest textures, quiet.

Urban, modern and studio

  1. HITEC City and Cyber Towers surrounds — glass, lines and night lights. Weekend mornings are emptiest.
  2. Ramoji Film City — many sets in one location, all-in-one convenience. Package pricing, book well ahead.
  3. Farmhouses toward Moinabad and Shankarpally — full privacy, control over props and timing, often the most efficient option. See farmhouses near Hyderabad.
  4. Indoor studio — full light control, no permission and no weather risk. Underrated for couples who want a clean editorial look.

Permissions — the part people discover too late

Government-protected monuments (Golconda, Qutb Shahi Tombs, Chowmahalla) require prior permission and a fee for professional shoots, and rules change. Public parks have their own policies. Drones need separate clearance almost everywhere in the city. Apply at least two weeks ahead, and carry printed approvals on the day — being turned away at the gate with a hired crew is an expensive morning.

Timing, honestly

  • Sunrise to 8:30 AM — the best light and the fewest people. Worth the alarm.
  • 4:30 PM to sunset — golden hour, but crowded at the popular spots.
  • Blue hour, 15-25 minutes after sunset — best for city and bridge frames.
  • Avoid 10 AM to 4 PM — harsh overhead light, and Hyderabad summer heat that shows in every frame.

Season: November to February is comfortable. March to May is hot enough to affect both the couple and the makeup. Monsoon gives dramatic skies and real risk — have a covered fallback.

What it costs

A half-day pre-wedding shoot in Hyderabad typically runs ₹25,000-60,000 for photography, plus ₹10,000-30,000 if you want a cinematic reel, plus location fees, plus outfit changes and makeup. Two locations in one day is realistic; four is not, once you count travel and changes.

A practical plan

Pick two locations no more than 30 minutes apart. Start at sunrise at the first, shoot until 9 AM, break, then take the second at golden hour the same evening. Two outfits per location. Carry water, a steamer, safety pins and a change mat — the unglamorous list that saves the day.
