Hyderabad has hundreds of event management companies, and from the outside they look identical — same portfolio photos, same package names, similar quotes. The differences that actually matter to you are not on their websites. This page explains what the different types of companies are, what they charge, and the checks that separate a company that will run your event well from one that will sub-contract it and hope.

The five kinds of event companies in Hyderabad
Almost every planner in the city falls into one of these. Knowing which one you are talking to tells you what they will be good at.
- Full-service planners. Handle planning, decor, catering, photography and production together. One contract, one point of contact. Best for weddings and anything with more than two functions. Costs more than assembling vendors yourself, saves you the coordination.
- Decor-led companies. Started as decorators and expanded into planning. Usually excellent at mandaps, stages and florals; catering and photography are bought in. Good if decor is your priority.
- Catering-led companies. The reverse — strong kitchens that added event planning. Food is reliable; decor is outsourced. Good for functions where the meal is the centre of the day.
- Corporate-only agencies. Built around conferences, product launches, dealer meets and annual days. Strong on AV, stage production, invoicing and compliance. Usually more expensive for social events because their cost base is built for corporate work.
- Freelance planners and small teams. One or two people who coordinate vendors. Cheapest option and often very good for small functions, but they have no crew of their own, so on the day they are coordinating rather than controlling.
What event management companies in Hyderabad charge
Two pricing models are common. Some companies charge a flat management fee; others take a percentage of the total event value, typically 10-15%. Percentage pricing is normal, but it means your planner earns more when you spend more, so ask which model you are on before you start adding to the scope.
- Small social function (naming ceremony, home birthday, 40-80 guests) — from around ₹25,000
- Mid-size celebration or corporate meet — from around ₹1.2 lakh
- Single-function wedding event (engagement, reception) — ₹1.5-4 lakh

Eight checks before you sign with anyone
- Which teams are in-house and which are sub-contracted? Neither answer is wrong. Not getting a straight answer is.
- Who is physically present on event day? The person selling to you is often not the person running it. Get the name.
- Is the quote itemised line by line, with GST stated? A single lump-sum number always grows.
- Flat fee or percentage? Ask directly, and get it in writing.
- Do they take commission from venues or vendors? Many do. It is legal and common, but it means their recommendation may not be neutral.
- Can you see a written run-sheet from a past event? Companies that work to run-sheets have them ready. Companies that improvise do not.
- What is the contingency plan? Rain, power failure, a vendor not turning up, a 20% guest-count jump. Good planners answer immediately because they have been there.
- What are the cancellation and postponement terms? Read them before paying any advance.
